Israel Keeps Trade Flowing despite War


(Jerusalem Post) With rockets falling and tens of thousands of reservists in uniform, Israeli exporters managed to ship $150 billion worth of goods and services in 2024, only a 1% dip from the previous year. Bank of Israel forecasts project that output will expand by 3.5% in 2025 and 4% in 2026. Technology services, which account for more than half of Israeli exports, rose 3% in 2024 and another 10% in the first quarter of 2025, according to the Israel Export Institute. Israeli defense manufacturers posted a record $15 billion in overseas sales, a 13% increase fueled by European demand for air-defense systems. Venture funding, which cooled briefly after Oct. 7, is now within 10% of its pre-war pace.
