U.S. Withdraws from UNESCO


(U.S. State Department) State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce - On Tuesday, the U.S. informed Director-General Audrey Azoulay of its decision to withdraw from UNESCO, the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. Continued involvement in UNESCO is not in the national interest of the U.S. UNESCO works to advance divisive social and cultural causes. Its decision to admit the "State of Palestine" as a member state is highly problematic, contrary to U.S. policy, and contributed to the proliferation of anti-Israel rhetoric within the organization. U.S. withdrawal will take effect on December 31, 2026.
