(Ha'aretz) Amos Harel - In northern Gaza, the Israel Defense Forces are finalizing control of the Shujaiyeh neighborhood in eastern Gaza City and the Jabalya refugee camp to its north. In the south, a campaign is underway that is advancing slowly and cautiously amid the deep network of tunnels Hamas has dug there. In guerrilla warfare, even a supposedly defeated unit still possesses residual functional capacity that can be used to exact a toll. There are many battles in which two or three terrorists attack an IDF force by surprise.
