(Ha'aretz) Jonathan Lis - A draft UN Security Council statement on Gaza that was vetoed by the U.S. on Monday did not mention the rocket barrages on Israel's civilian population by Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Israel's UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan said Israel's response to indiscriminate attacks by Hamas strictly adhered to international law. "Israel uses its missiles to protect its children. Hamas uses children to protect its missiles," Erdan said.
