Iranian Militias Seek New Recruits in Syria


(Al-Monitor) Khaled al-Khateb - Iranian forces and affiliated militias in Deir ez-Zor province in eastern Syria are recruiting Syrians to join their ranks and form new militias. Ahmed al-Ramadan, director of the Euphrates Post, a Syrian opposition website, said the Afghan Fatemiyoun Brigade is recruiting men between 16 and 48. While the salary of an Afghan member reaches $300 per month, "the salary of a Syrian member does not exceed $100 per month, and individuals joining the brigade are required to attend ideological courses and embrace the Shiite sect."
