(New York Times) Roger Cohen - The French government on Wednesday unveiled draft legislation to combat radical Islamism. The legislation would curb online hate speech; punish doctors who provide "virginity certificates" for traditional religious marriages; and oblige community associations to sign declarations of allegiance to the "values of the republic" at the same time as imposing strict controls on their funding.
