(Washington Post) Missy Ryan and Sudarsan Raghavan - The U.S. has launched airstrikes on the Islamic State in Sirte, Libya, the Pentagon said on Monday, in a significant expansion of the American campaign against the group. The attacks come in support of an effort by Libya's unity government to retake Sirte, which militants seized in early 2015.
