Oil Starts to Flow in Southern Iraq


(AP/Washington Post) Crude from Iraq's southern oil fields began flowing through pipelines on Wednesday for the first time since the start of the war five weeks ago, U.S. officials said. Initially, the fuel will be produced only for domestic production. Within six to 15 weeks, Iraq's southern Rumaila oil field could be producing up to 1.1 million barrels a day, said Brig. Gen. Robert Crear.
