Did Stuxnet Take Out 1,000 Centrifuges at the Natanz Enrichment Plant?


(Institute for Science and International Security) David Albright, Paul Brannan, and Christina Walrond - In late 2009 or early 2010, Iran decommissioned and replaced about 1,000 IR-1 centrifuges in the Fuel Enrichment Plant (FEP) at Natanz, implying that these centrifuges broke. The crashing of such a large number of centrifuges over a relatively short period of time could have resulted from an infection of the Stuxnet malware.
