The Covid-19 Crisis, the World Health Organization, and China's Strategy

(Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs) The performance of the World Health Organization (WHO) in the present corona crisis, and specifically that of its director-general, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, constitute perhaps the major factor in the global administration and regulation of the international struggle to contain the coronavirus, to reduce the amount of victims, and to generate, encourage and coordinate efforts to find the medical response to the challenge. Very serious allegations are appearing in the international community and through international media regarding Tedros' alleged collusion with China's efforts to conceal the seriousness of the corona outbreak and to delay declaring the outbreak a pandemic, which may have resulted in immense damage in terms of human casualties. Only on March 11, 2020, did the WHO declare it a pandemic.
