(Washington Post) Karen DeYoung and Missy Ryan - France and Britain have turned down a U.S. request to stay in Syria after U.S. forces withdraw, a senior U.S. official said. The three allies have operated heavy artillery and conducted airstrikes against the Islamic State in Syria.
