[Ha'aretz] Ephraim Yaar and Tamar Hermann - According to the December Peace Index of the Tami Steinmetz Center for Peace Research at Tel Aviv University, 69.5% of Israeli Jews said that the Palestinians would destroy the State of Israel if they could. Since 1994, between two-thirds and three-quarters have seen this as the Palestinians' intention. 53% oppose evacuating most of the Jewish settlements in the territories for a full peace agreement, while only 34% favor it. 68% agree that even dismantling most of the settlements would not suffice for the Palestinians to sign a full peace agreement with Israel. 2007-01-09 01:00:00Full Article
