Breakthrough Makes It More Possible to Survive Nerve Gas


(Jerusalem Post) Judy Siegel-Itzkovich - The Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel has succeeded in developing an enzyme that breaks down nerve gas agents before damage to nerves and muscles is caused. According to results published in Nature Chemical Biology, recent experiments performed in an American military lab have shown that injecting a relatively small amount of this enzyme into animals provides superior protection against certain types of nerve agents than current treatments.
