(Telegraph-UK) Paul Nuki - Prominent Palestinians from around the world have been lined up to help run Gaza in the wake of Hamas's promised disarmament and Israel's withdrawal. A senior source with detailed knowledge of the U.S.-led preparations to stabilize Gaza said "a whole group" of candidates had been identified from Gaza and its diaspora. They would be responsible for delivering the day-to-day running of public services, until such time as the Palestinian Authority had reformed sufficiently to take control. Oversight would be provided by the "Board of Peace," an external international body to be chaired by President Trump with the assistance of former British prime minister Sir Tony Blair. The U.S. says Hamas and Israel have signed up to all of the 20-point peace plan, not just parts of it. The plan requires that Hamas gives up any role in the running of Gaza and puts its weapons "beyond use." The security element of the plan includes a "stabilization force, that is credible and allows the Israelis to say, 'Okay, we're getting out and not leaving Hamas to revive,'" said a source.
