UN General Assembly Endorses Two-State Solution for Israel and Palestinians

(Reuters) The UN General Assembly on Friday voted 142-10, with 12 abstentions, to endorse a declaration outlining "tangible, timebound, and irreversible steps" towards a two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians. The declaration condemns the attacks against Israel by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023, which triggered the war in Gaza. It also condemns the responses by Israel "which have resulted in a devastating humanitarian catastrophe." Israel and the U.S. voted against the resolution.
