(Jerusalem Post) Seth J. Frantzman - It is likely that Israel's decision to call Hizbullah's bluff via massive airstrikes will be seen as a turning point in the conflict. Hizbullah has always threatened to rain down thousands of missiles a day on Israel and use new capabilities, including precision-guided munitions and drones. Hizbullah was seen as so powerful that any war with it would be devastating for Israel. Hizbullah became arrogant and complacent. It also came to overly rely on Iran. Iran wants to preserve Hizbullah and, therefore, it is afraid of Hizbullah entering a major war. And now, the fear of Hizbullah has diminished.
