Czech Pilots Train in Israel for Afghan Mission

[CTK-Ceske Noviny-Czech Republic] 55 Czech soldiers from the helicopter base in Prerov, north Moravia, ended their two-week training in Israel last week where they prepared for next year's mission in Afghanistan. The Czech pilots learned to fly in difficult conditions of a dusty desert in Israel, covering 91 hours in the air during 900 training flights. Czech chief of staff Vlastimil Picek thanked the Israeli military, while it was recalled that in 1948 the then Czechoslovakia provided aircraft and arms for Israel and trained Israeli pilots, which helped the Israelis achieve independence.
