(Navy Recognition) Plasan Sasa Ltd. in Israel announced on Jan. 16 they have signed a contract with BAE Systems Australia to armor the first three Hunter class frigates for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). Bisalloy Steel Australia will be responsible for the production of the ballistic steel under the contract. Plasan is currently providing composite armor for UK Type 26 frigates.
