Jewish Agency Expected to End Physical Presence in Russia

(Jerusalem Post) Zvika Klein - The Jewish Agency is expected to end its physical presence in Russia and is discussing how to move all of its operations from Russia to Israel, according to a senior source. "The Jewish Agency will operate all of its work on aliyah from Israel, online or by phone," the source said. The Agency will continue to encourage aliyah from Russia by funding local activities or send temporary educators from Israel. The agency has 200 employees in Russia and three full-time Israeli emissaries, whose contract ended during the summer and who aren't expected to return to Russia.
