(Times of Israel) As hundreds of Jewish worshipers under military escort arrived to pray at Joseph's Tomb near Nablus in the West Bank early Thursday, armed Palestinians directed "massive gunfire" at the compound, wounding an IDF commander and two civilians. IDF soldiers returned fire. The Oslo Accords designated Joseph's Tomb as a Jewish holy site that remained under Israeli control.
