Iran Says Preliminary Deal Reached on Frozen Funds Abroad

(AFP-France 24) Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Wednesday, "An accord was concluded with a foreign bank to release a part of our financial claims." Tens of billions of dollars in Iranian money were blocked in a number of countries after the U.S. re-imposed sanctions on the Islamic republic in 2018. Tasnim news agency said the deal aims to find a solution for frozen Iranian assets valued at more than $7 billion.
