(Xinhua-China) 1,700 athletes from 12 countries participated in the annual Israman iron triathlon events on Friday near Eilat. The competition included a 3.8-km. swim, a 180-km. bike ride, and a full marathon 42.2 km. run. The men's victory went to Israel's Dan Alterman at 9 hours and 52 minutes. Limor Hagani took the women's title in 11:48.
