India-Israel Ties: How India's Approach Has Changed

(The Diplomat) Alvite Ningthoujam - Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar's visit to Israel in October 2021 highlighted the upward trajectory of relations between the two countries, with military-security cooperation only one of many items on the agenda. Israel seeks to boost bilateral cooperation with India in areas including health care, big data, economics, and technology. Simultaneously, Indian, Israeli, and Emirati leaders are signaling their willingness to forge trilateral partnerships, as well as with the involvement of the U.S., to focus on trade, maritime security, and joint infrastructural development projects. The political breakthrough of the Abraham Accords is a positive development for India, ushering in a new era of partnerships driven by shared national and strategic interests.
