U.S. officials are reviewing their options after months of talks on reentry into the accord failed to produce an agreement. The U.S. is willing to weigh alternatives, including limited sanctions relief in exchange for Iran freezing its most provocative proliferation work. Several people familiar with the talks said the U.S. goal is still a full return to the 2015 deal, though they have no evidence that Iran's government is ready to do that. One senior Western diplomat said the slow pace of talks has dimmed hopes for a broader deal that would encompass Iran's ballistic missile program and its support for terrorist groups.
