U.S. to Withdraw Hundreds of Troops, Aircraft, Antimissile Batteries from Middle East

(Wall Street Journal) Gordon Lubold - The Biden administration is pulling eight Patriot antimissile batteries from Iraq, Kuwait, Jordan and Saudi Arabia, according to U.S. officials. The Thaad antimissile system is being withdrawn from Saudi Arabia, and jet fighter squadrons in the region are being reduced. Most of the military hardware being removed is coming from Saudi Arabia, officials said, as the kingdom has improved its defensive capabilities, intercepting most rocket attacks on its own.
