Isaac Herzog Elected 11th President of the State of Israel

(Jerusalem Post) Greer Fay Cashman - Isaac Herzog, 60, was elected the 11th President of Israel by the Knesset on Wednesday, succeeding retiring President Reuven Rivlin. His father, Chaim Herzog, was Israel's sixth president, and his grandfather was the first Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel. Herzog served as leader of the Labor Party, leader of the opposition, and had headed four government ministries. For the past three years he has served as chairman of the Jewish Agency for Israel.
