Qatar, Saudi Arabia Set to End Feud that Hampered U.S. Interests

(Wall Street Journal) Dion Nissenbaum - Saudi Arabia moved to end a three-year-old dispute with Qatar that has hampered U.S. efforts to isolate Iran. In 2017, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt began a blockade of Qatar after accusing it of supporting terrorism and aligning with Iran. White House senior adviser Jared Kushner helped broker an end to the standoff. Saudi Arabia and its allies had demanded that Qatar shut down the Al Jazeera satellite news network, sever ties with the Muslim Brotherhood, and end its military cooperation with Iran.
