The End of the Arms Embargo on Iran

Yossi Kuperwasser - The termination of the arms embargo on Iran on October 18, 2020, will allow Iran to purchase and export arms without restrictions. Iran is likely to quickly pursue advanced weapons, particularly from Russia and China, with an emphasis on air defense systems, such as the Russian S-400, to improve the defense of Iranian nuclear facilities. Iran will also seek components that will enhance the performance of its missiles that are expected to carry nuclear weapons in the future.
