Dozens of Jewish Headstones Discovered under Polish Town's Market Square

(JTA) Cnaan Liphshiz - Dozens of Jewish headstones have been discovered under the asphalt of a local market in Lezajsk, Poland, 120 miles south of Warsaw. The headstones, uncovered during construction work that began in June, have been removed by the municipality. In 1939, the town's population of 5,000 was 90% Jewish.
