(Times of Israel) Israel's National Security Council on Monday evening reported 179 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, the highest such figure in over a month. There were 2,620 active cases, with 23 people on ventilators. Health officials have attributed much of the recent rise in new virus cases to the reopening of schools in May after a two-month closure.
