(Ynet News) Itamar Eichner - The Israel Ministry of Science, Technology and Space announced on Monday that it will name a planet after the Hebrew letter Alef, the first letter of the alphabet. The name was chosen in an online poll of 20,000 participants conducted by the Israel Space Agency. On the occasion of its 100th anniversary, the International Astronomical Association offered dozens of countries the chance to name a planet and a star in solar systems outside of the Milky Way.
