Attorney General Indicts Prime Minister Netanyahu

(Ynet News) Israel's Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit on Thursday charged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with bribery, fraud and breach of trust in three cases, the first time in Israel's history a sitting prime minister faces a criminal trial. Case 1000 involved Netanyahu and his family receiving gifts from Hollywood producer Arnon Milchan and Australian businessman and investor James Packer. Case 2000 involved discussions between Netanyahu and Yediot Ahronot and Ynet owner Arnon Mozes, who was also indicted. Case 4000 involved contacts between Netanyahu and Shaul Elovitch, then-majority shareholder of Bezeq Telecom, Israel's leading telecommunications company, who was also indicted, regarding news coverage on the Walla! news site owned by Bezeq.
