Palestinian Authority Opposes Construction of New Hospital in Gaza

(Jerusalem Post) Khaled Abu Toameh - The Palestinian Authority said on Thursday that it strongly opposes building a new hospital in Hamas-ruled Gaza. On Tuesday, equipment for building the hospital entered Gaza from Israel. The 10-acre hospital in northern Gaza was donated by the U.S. nonprofit Friendship and is partially funded by Qatar. The PA Ministry of Health said it was "categorically opposed to any project that affects Palestinian sovereignty" and noted that the construction of the hospital wasn't coordinated with the PA government.
