(Reuters) The U.S. blocked a draft UN Security Council statement on Wednesday that would have expressed regret at Israel's decision not to renew the mandate of the Temporary International Presence in Hebron (TIPH) after 22 years. UN diplomats said the U.S. did not believe a council statement on the issue was appropriate.
