Aboriginals Stood with Jews Against the Nazis - We Have a Long History Together

(Guardian-UK) Jack Latimore - In December 1938, an elderly Aboriginal activist, Yorta Yorta elder William Cooper, led a small delegation from his home in a Melbourne suburb to the city's German consulate to protest the Kristallnacht attacks on Jews in Nazi Germany that occurred less than a month earlier. Over the past 15 years, that protest march has been celebrated as a symbol of solidarity between Aboriginals and the Jewish diaspora. The writer is an Aboriginal reporter and columnist for Guardian Australia.
