Terrorism-Related Arrests in UK Reach Record Level

(Guardian-UK) Jamie Grierson - The number of terrorism-related arrests in Britain hit a record high after attacks in London and Manchester in 2017. In the year ending 31 March, 441 people were held on suspicion of terrorism-related activity, an increase of 17% on the 378 in the previous year. "In the past year, working together with the security services, we have stopped an average of one terrorist attack every month," said Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu, head of counter-terrorism policing in the UK.
