(Peace Index) Profs. Ephraim Yaar and Tamar Hermann - 70% of Israeli Jews and 67% of Israeli Arabs do not believe that negotiations between Israel and the PA will lead to peace in the coming years, according to the Peace Index survey conducted on Apr. 24-25 and published by the Israel Democracy Institute and Tel Aviv University on Wednesday. 91% of Jews and 33% of Arabs said they were proud to be an Israeli. 75% of Jews and 44% of Arabs said they were optimistic about the future of Israel. 83% of Jews said the IDF's policy on opening fire at the Gaza border clashes was appropriate.
