(JTA) The U.S. blocked a UN Security Council statement supporting the right of Palestinians to "demonstrate peacefully" on the border with Israel and calling for an independent investigation into the deaths of Palestinians on two consecutive Fridays. Nine Gazans were killed during last Friday's protest, according to Palestinian sources.
