Over 90 Percent of Iraqi Kurds Vote to Secede from Iraq

(Reuters) Maher Chmaytelli and Ahmed Rasheed - The Kurdish Rudaw TV channel said an overwhelming majority, possibly over 90%, had voted "yes" to independence in a referendum on Monday. The U.S., major European countries, Iraq, Turkey, and Iran strongly opposed the referendum. Iraqi Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani called on Iraq's central government in Baghdad to engage in "serious dialogue."
