Senate Passes Sanctions Bill Targeting Iran

(AP-CNBC) Richard Lardner - The U.S. Senate on Thursday voted 97-2 to approve a new package of stiff financial sanctions against Iran, Russia, and North Korea. The U.S. House passed the sanctions package on Tuesday. The sanctions package imposes mandatory penalties on people involved in Iran's ballistic missile program and anyone who does business with them. The measure would apply terrorism sanctions to the country's Revolutionary Guards and enforce an arms embargo.
