(Times of Israel) Shoshanna Solomon - Researchers from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign have developed new ultrafiltration membranes that significantly improve the process of removing viruses from treated municipal wastewater used for drinking. A special hydrogel coating grafted onto a commercial ultrafiltration membrane repels viruses and does not allow them to approach or pass through the membrane.
