(Naharnet-Lebanon) In a periodic report on the implementation of Resolution 1701 adopted after the Second Lebanon War in 2006, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said, "Retention of arms by Hizbullah and other groups undermines the state's authority and contradicts with the duties of the country [Lebanon] under Resolutions 1559 and 1701," An Nahar daily reported on Friday. The report also condemned the "threats launched by the Secretary General of Hizbullah against Israel on February 16, which cannot be justified."
