(JTA) A series of powerful earthquakes in August and October near the Italian towns of Amatrice and Norcia killed nearly 300 people and left thousands homeless. In recent days a delegation from the Union of Italian Jewish Communities (UCEI) and IsraAID visited the earthquake zone and delivered thermal blankets, jackets, shoes, and portable heaters, the UCEI reported Wednesday. IsraAID has been carrying out relief work in the affected zone since September.
