(CNN) Barbara Starr - U.S. Navy aircraft were threatened over the weekend by Iran as they were flying in the northern Persian Gulf in international airspace, a U.S. defense official said. The Iranians made a radio call to the planes, warning them not to enter Iranian airspace or risk being shot down, the official said.
