(Ha'aretz) The 1979 peace treaty between Israel and Egypt will be taught in Egyptian schools for the first time, Israel Army Radio reported Tuesday. A new Egyptian history textbook includes a chapter on the peace deal that speaks of the two countries having "ended the state of war" and of "each side respecting the sovereignty and independence of the other side."
