(JTA) Curt Schleier - Avigail Alfatov, 19, the reigning Miss Israel who will compete this month in the Miss Universe Pageant in Las Vegas on Dec. 20, is a national fencing champion who dreams of being a diplomat. Born in Israel to parents from the Ukraine, she is the national youth fencing champion in Israel and hopes to be part of Israel's 2020 team in Tokyo. She is currently doing national service in the Israel Air Force.
