The study of rabbinics and classical Jewish texts is open to women. Women have risen to public leadership of the Jewish community more completely. The enfranchisement of Jewish women has greatly enriched American Jewish life. Prof. Rela Mintz Geffen is president of Baltimore Hebrew University and served as dean for academic affairs at Gratz College in Philadelphia.
