Israel Seeks to Allay Jordan Concerns over Temple Mount Violence

(Ha'aretz) Barak Ravid - Israel has been passing messages to Jordan to calm tensions amid the recent escalation at the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Senior officials in Jerusalem said that Israel told Jordan it has no intention of making any change to the status quo at the holy site, and said that the Palestinians are spreading lies on this issue. Along with these messages, Israeli officials demanded that Jordan also take steps to stop the violence on the Temple Mount through representatives of the Waqf, or Muslim religious trust.
