(NDTV-India) Vishnu Som - The Indian Navy's most-advanced warship, the INS Kolkata, is to be equipped with Barak 8 surface-to-air missiles. The Barak 8, designed to intercept incoming anti-ship missiles at a range of at least 70 km., was co-developed with Israel and features an advanced target tracking system designed by an Israeli company, and a rocket motor built in India. The Barak 8 is designed to destroy any anti-ship missile launched by the Pakistani or Chinese navies.
