(New York Times) Somini Sengupta - Canadian law professor William Schabas, the chairman of a UN panel investigating possible war crimes in last summer's Gaza conflict, resigned Monday. Israel had filed a formal complaint in January with the president of the Human Rights Council demanding the ouster of Professor Schabas, citing consulting work he had done for the Palestine Liberation Organization in 2012.
